Cub Scout packs and dens are run by adults in the pack who volunteer. No experience is necessary. Our needs come in many sizes and forms; there's a task to meet every adult's interests and availability. Not every helper wears a uniform or title.
Cub Scouts isn't just fun for the kids, it can be fun for you too. Being involved will make the Scouting experience more meaningful for you and your child, and it helps you connect with the other adults in the pack. Plus, if everyone volunteers for something, then no one has to do too much.
Our events in Spond may have open tasks listed for the taking. Or, your den may be assigned a task for a particular event. These are easy ways to help out, because you're already spending time at the event.
You can also help coordinate a specific event or need. No registration or training is required for these short-term coordinators. All adults are welcome to attend "BALOO" camping training or University of Scouting.
We have a monthly planning meeting that all adults are welcome to attend (they are listed under the Adult Events subgroup in Spond).
Look at our openings and contact the Committee Chair to start helping.
Attend planning meeting and event only as needed. Details provided via our program planner spreadsheet.

Some volunteers work directly with youth, and others need to use online systems where they can potential communicate with youth. For these volunteers, an adult registration and background check is required, and our pack covers the cost. Online training is required.
The pack committee, with help from event coordinators, handles our administrative needs. Adult questions and needs should be directed to the pack committee or the short-term volunteer for an event. This allows our den leaders and Cubmaster to focus on the youth.

The Cubmaster and den leaders, along with their assistants, are the most visible volunteers. They work directly with youth to deliver fun programming that enables our Cub Scouts to complete adventures and earn their badge of rank. The uniform is a method of Scouting and is strongly preferred for these roles.
Cub Scouts is the best age range to be directly involved with making the fun happen. Once your child finishes Cub Scouts and transfers to a Scouts BSA troop, the program planning and delivery is done by older Scouts in the troop.
